I recently gave refresher training on H&S as well as the use of the vehicle hoists and the scissor lift to some of the team. It was interesting to hear the views of the experienced team members as well as the valuable insights provided by the newer members of our team. What struck me was how quickly routine procedures that I once did repeatedly every day had become unfamiliar and "sketchy".
I also noted that things we had all agreed to do to keep ourselves safe from harm are now being treated as optional rather than mandatory. Please take the time to re-read the inductions and company policies that you have signed-up to and make sure you are keeping yourself and your fellow employees safe. This includes other crews at venues and remember, accidents happen when you least expect them - please be vigilant!
Regrettably, we saying farewell to Deepthi and Janaka. We wish both of them well for the future and extend a big thank you to both of them for their respective contributions to our team. These changes provide opportunities for other team members to step up. It also forces us to rethink how we operate and this can be both challenging but equally it can be rewarding. I urge you all to look forward, stay positive and whether you are leaving or staying, make the most of every day. I am constantly reminded of those less fortunate than us and it is humbling to be part of our small but successful story.
From Monday we will be using a new payroll app to record working time and leave using your smartphone or any PC. The new app will make it much easier to record your hours and sumbit your timesheets. It will also greatly improve the review and approve process that Dilshi does to make sure everyone is paid correctly and on time.
